A grand hello to the Boréal gang!
Our second season of events is pretty much
a done deal. Two months from now, we will be celebrating Volley Boréal's
4th anniversary. Wow! Already
4 years since LASCAR and LAMBDA decided to merge: the sum of their
combined ethics, the total of their sports activities grouped together
and the fusion of their mode of operation, all this to provide volleyball
players of all levels an ideal environment to play their favorite
sport!
In this edition of Libéro Express,
I will introduce you to a brief history of Volley Boréal,
which can be read in its long-awaited glory by visiting the About
Us section (see navigation menu above). Please don't hesitate
to contact me with your comments!

The title "Odyssée" refers
to Homer's telling of the epic adventures of Ulysses during his
return home after the fall of Troy. This year our heroes will make
history again from March 21 to
March 23, 2008.
We have named our own 10th volleyball
tournament "Odyssée 2008" and we hope that it
is as much an adventure for the gay sporting community as it was
for Ulysses. For 10 years now, gay sports enthusiasts have successfully
organized volleyball tournaments under the name of "Odyssée". »

Carmen Gravel has been a member of
Volley Boréal for 3 years now. Most of you may already have had
the opportunity to meet her young daughter, Maika. She is truly
a remarkable ray of hope and we're all happy to have her amongst
our many activities!
Sadly, Maïka suffers from a terrible
sickness: lactic acidosis. And yet our Honorary President never
ceases to impress with her courageous spirit. Her determination
and appetite for life remains a good source of inspiration to us
all!
On October 2006, Maika was nominated
as Honorary President for Volley Boréal and following her nomination,
we have organized a fundraiser during the Bonne Fête Tournament
held on December 2006. All funds collected went to the Lactic Acidosis
Foundation. » more
